Design brief
Design a golf-specific training facility aimed at making golf more accessible to urban residents and younger generations. The project will create a contemporary, inclusive, and socially engaging environment that challenges the traditional perception of golf clubs.
Our Mission
The aim is to get younger people into the game of golf by providing a space where they can play in the urban environment, which wil eliminate barriers to entry. The stereotypes that surround golf can often put people off, but UGC is here to show people what golf is really like.
Using imagery that reflects the themes of motion, repetition and rhythm, I created a series of collages to explore the atmosphere and spatial qualities I wanted the project to embody. These development studies allowed me to test how abstract ideas could be translated into spatial experiences. Rather than replicating the visual appearance of a golf course, the collages explored the qualities that define it. Continuous movement, repeated forms and a rhythmic progression through the landscape. These observations informed the circulation strategy and spatial configuration of the proposal, creating an interior that captures the experience of moving through a golf course within an urban context.
The design translates the abstract themes of motion, repetition and rhythm into a cohesive spatial experience. Curved forms and interconnected spaces encourage fluid circulation, inspired by the natural pathways found within a golf course. Repeated elements create visual continuity, while the open layout establishes a rhythm that unfolds gradually as users move through the building. Together, these strategies create an environment that is a calm, immersive experience of golf within an urban setting.
